This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. It is framed in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (“DPDP Act”).

2. What information we collect

Order and checkout data. Our products are digital presets and filmmaking assets, delivered electronically after purchase. When you place an order, we collect your name, email, phone number, billing address (for invoicing purposes), and order contents. Your purchased files or download access are delivered to the email address you provide at checkout. Payments are processed through Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank credentials on our own servers — these are handled directly by the payment processor.

Abandoned cart data. If you add a preset pack to cart and leave without completing checkout, your email address may be captured and used to send you a reminder to complete your purchase.

Enquiry and contact form data. Any information you submit through a contact or enquiry form on this site, including name, email, phone number, and message content, is collected to respond to your query.

Currency and location data. Prices on this site may be displayed in a currency based on your location or your own currency selection. This relies on general location detection, not precise tracking.

Search queries. If you use the on-site product search, your search terms are used only to return relevant results and are not sold or shared for external advertising.

Automatically collected data. Standard technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referral source — is collected through analytics tools.

3. How we use this information

We use this information to process and fulfil orders, respond to enquiries, recover abandoned carts through reminder emails, run advertising and analytics through Google, list our products on Google’s shopping and search network, and improve site performance. Each category of data listed in section 2 is used only for the purpose tied to it here.

4. Legal basis and consent

By placing an order, submitting a form, or continuing to browse this site after being shown a cookie notice, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in this policy.

You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to [email protected]. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to process an existing order or enquiry, and we will notify you if that is the case.

5. Payment processing

Payments on this store are processed through Razorpay, an independent payment processor with its own privacy and security standards. We receive confirmation of payment and transaction reference details but do not access or store your card, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials at any point.

6. Google services and product listings

We use Google Analytics and related Google tools to understand site traffic and performance, and we share basic product and store data with Google to display our catalogue in search and shopping results. If you interact with our Google Search or Shopping listings, standard Google advertising cookies may apply, governed by Google’s own privacy policy.

7. Embedded YouTube content

Where we embed videos from our YouTube channel (youtube.com/@novelafilmacademy) on this site, playing that video may set cookies from YouTube and Google, used to track viewing behaviour in line with YouTube’s own privacy policy. We do not control this data once it is collected by YouTube.

8. Cookies

This site uses cookies to operate correctly and to support advertising and analytics. These fall into three categories: essential cookies (required for cart and checkout to function), analytics cookies (to understand site usage), and advertising cookies (used for remarketing on Google’s network).

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will affect checkout functionality.

Who sees your data

9. Sharing with third parties

We share data with the following categories of third parties, strictly for the purposes stated in this policy: our payment processor (Razorpay); Google, for analytics, search, and shopping advertising; and our email delivery service, used to ensure order confirmations and marketing emails reach your inbox reliably.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

10. Data retention

We keep the personal data described in this policy for as long as you continue using our store, or for as long as needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, deliver our services, resolve disputes, defend against legal claims, carry out audits, pursue legitimate business needs, enforce our agreements, and meet our obligations under applicable law. Once none of these purposes apply, we delete or anonymise the data.

Your rights

11. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal data we hold about you (subject to our legal retention obligations), and to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the Data Protection Board of India.

12. Children’s data

Purchase of our digital presets is intended for users aged 18 and above, since checkout requires payment account ownership. We do not knowingly collect data from children without verifiable parental consent.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including secure payment processing through a PCI-compliant processor and restricted access to stored data, to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Grievance officer

In accordance with the DPDP Act, the following person is designated to address privacy-related grievances:

Name: Yash Kapoor

Email: [email protected]

Address: B Wing, 502A, 5th Floor, Ackruti Trade Centre, MIDC, Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra, 400093, India

15. Cross-border data transfer

Some of the service providers named in this policy, including Google, may process or store your data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we rely on that provider’s own security and compliance standards, and such transfers are made in a manner consistent with the DPDP Act.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
